Monday my sister in law Melissa brought over her kids so I could do Lily's 6 month pictures. She wasn't too fond of the camera, but isn't she just gorgeous? Love those baby blues that all of our kids have been blessed with. I had to include all three piggy shots because I just LOVED them all and couldn't decide which to pick to showcase. Enjoy!

If you haven't heard of tuberous sclerosis, you can read about it here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuberous_sclerosis This disease is very near and dear to my heart, all because of a beautiful little boy named Remy.

Remy is 9 months old. Remy has tuberous sclerosis. Remy is the son of one of my very best friend's, Alicia. At 3 months of age, Remy was diagnosed with this terrible disease. He and his parents have spent many a night in the children's hospital trying to get answers and to get his seizures under control that are caused by the tumors in Remy's brain. They have traveled to Canada to get seizure medication to try and help their little boy because it was not available in the United States.

A week ago today Remy underwent brain surgery where the surgeon's removed 40% of the right hemisphere of his brain. This is where the tumors were that were causing the seizures that were causing Remy to be developmentally delayed. The surgeon's told Alicia and Matt to expect major left sided weakness and different seizures from the trauma to the brain. Remy has been seizure free since the surgery. Right after surgery he was kicking his left leg and waving his left arm. Isn't it amazing? God is so good.

Alicia is taking part in a Tuberous Sclerosis walk on Saturday. She is raising money for the event so that we can hopefully find a cure for this disease. This week I photographed Ava in the first arrival... a three piece patriotic set. **Disclaimer....I noticed right away when I posted these photos, they do not appear as vivid and bright on blogger as what they actually are. They look kind of washed out to me on here, which disappoints me a bit that I can't show you all the 'true colors' of this shoot!

Ava thought she wanted to go swimming on Sunday, while we were driving around the lake. She saw other people in the water, not understanding that they were not there for their pleasure, they were freezing their body parts in the frigid water to put their docks in. So, we took her to the old boat landing and I had her put her feet in.

I can't believe my baby is almost 10 months old already! How does that happen?

{memorial day}

It's memorial day....a time to remember our loved ones that have passed on. It is also a special day to remember all of our veterans and active duty military members who have served our country so that we can be free.

Today I am wondering how my sister is doing. She joined the Navy to be an officer just yesterday! I am wondering if they are acknowledging Memorial Day in boot camp, I'm sure they are. When I was in boot camp, I was privileged enough to perform in the color guard for a local town. It was a very emotional day, and I felt so incredibly lucky and PROUD to be serving my country after all of the brave men and women who have given their lives for us.

portfolio building special

Warm and beautiful weather is upon us...and with it, rich and vibrant colors of spring. This makes a perfect recipe to get photos done! I am still in my portfolio building phase and would like to offer new clients a special price on getting their photos done.

I am having laptop problems AGAIN! Can you believe it!? It is costing me $200 to get my laptop fixed this time. YIKES! Mind you, my laptop is dubbed the "stone tablets" around my house because it is so old, LOL! So you are probably wondering why I don't just go and get a new one? Well, I would except I need something fast and with a whole lotta memory, so that is not in the budget at this time. (is it ever?)

So! With that all said...

I am ecstatic to announce that Ava and myself have been selected by Josiekat's Trunk (link on right side) to be a model and photographer from their model search! Whoo Hoo! Emily and little midge have also been selected, and we will work together. I am beyond excited and am so looking forward to doing business with them.
